Kendo and children

In Japan Kendo is practiced by numerous children, as well girls as boys, from the early age of seven. Due to Kendo, they develop physical (endurance, musculature and reflexes) as well as mentally (willpower, endurance and self control). The relations between teacher and pupil, between ancient and new as well as between participants of different grades are codified in a strict manner. The young ones evolve in a environment where they are confronted with fundamental notions like respect, discipline and helping one another.

Due to body protection, practicing Kendo is inoffensive and permits the child to freely develop numerous virtues.

More than just a sport, Kendo is a school of life ...
